The Australian Government’s objective for the 2007 Youth Pathways is:

To assist young people make the transition through school and from school to further education, training or employment and active participation in the community.

This objective is achieved through the provision of assistance that focuses on addressing individual barriers to a smooth transition. Individual barriers are defined through the development and implementation of an individual Transition Plan.

Youth Pathways also provides ongoing support for Youth Pathways participants as they move through school and into their post-school destinations.
