What is Work For the Dole?

Work for the Dole is a government funded programme designed to help unemployed people gain some valuable work experience to help them to achieve employment, and to contribute to the community by assisting community services and facilities.

Check with Centrelink to see if you're eligible to participate.

What Kinds of Work Experience are available?

TURSA has all sorts of work experience and different projects available. Participants may be placed in an individual placement with a not-for-profit organisation or in a project work team committed to a special project such as one renovating a community hall or a showground.

Projects provide a wide range of work experience in such areas as :

  • Office Administration
  • Retail and Customer Service
  • Aged Care
  • Horticulture
  • Landscaping
  • Building
  • Painting
  • General Maintenance, etc.
