Employment Adviser – Somerset Region
Tursa Employment & Training is seeking to employ an Employment Adviser who meets our selection criteria to work in one the area listed below, to provide services and support to eligible, unemployed participants to enable those participants to achieve employment outcomes under the Australian Government’s jobactive programme.

Delivery of Employment Services under the jobactive programme is a highly competitive industry, and continuation of our contracts and the level of business the Government allocates to TURSA depends upon being ranked highly on comparative performance with other providers not only in the immediate area but more so against other providers across the rest of Australia. TURSA is currently a very successful and highly-ranked provider of jobactive services to businesses and unemployed persons in the eastern seaboard region from Forster on the Mid-North Coast of NSW to Noosaville on the QLD Sunshine Coast.
Previous industry experience in jobactive would be highly regarded but not essential. The successful applicants will however, have excellent people skills i.e. the ability, disposition and commitment to engage positively and empathetically with participants, to work with and support them to move into employment or self-employment.
The role provides opportunity to use your skills, knowledge, and energy to build strong working relationships with participants and assist them in seeking gainful employment. You may engage and negotiate with employers as required on the participant’s behalf.
Employment Advisers will be required to undertake the Certificate IV in Employment Services training course, unless they already hold that qualification. Certificate IV in Employment Services is a nationally accredited and recognised qualification in the industry and will be delivered at no cost to the employee.

Position Overview:
POSITION: | Grading as follows based on experience and skills: Trainee Employment Adviser (opportunities may exist for inexperienced persons who have the interest and enthusiasm to seek a career in the industry.) Employment Adviser- Grade 1 Employment Adviser- Grade 2 Progression by re-classification to Senior Employment Adviser on merit or the allocation of additional duties at the discretion of management |

SCOPE: | Employment Adviser is a generic classification which covers work duties such as:
Employment Adviser duties shall include the range of duties required to deliver jobactive services prescribed under contract to the Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE). An incumbent may be required to discharge all of the duties or some of the duties in such combination as specified as is necessary to deliver contracted services and taking into consideration the abilities and skills of the worker, and the needs of the site and participants. |
