Human Resources Officer

Tursa Employment & Training is seeking to employ an experienced Human Resources Officer based at Tweed Heads, NSW. The successful applicant will be highly organised, and display a proven ability to operate in a high volume Human Resources Department using their high level communication skills to liaise, mediate, and negotiate at all levels within the organisation.

In this role, you will support the Manager – Human Resources in the management and delivery of operational Human Resource administration and services including recruitment and selection, learning and development, workplace relations, performance management, probation & salary reviews, and WH&S. Relevant tertiary level qualifications are essential.

TURSA offers Above Award salaries and employment conditions, including a 9-day fortnight, salary packaging, and 12% superannuation contributions.

Selection Criteria:

Human Resources Officer
ESSENTIAL:
1 Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a high volume Human Resources environment
2 Exceptional communication skills both written and oral
3 Competent keyboard skills along with high level proficiency in using MS Office products - Excel, Word, Outlook
4 Capacity to operate confidentially in a commercial, competitive environment
5 Relevant tertiary level Human Resources qualifications
6 Motor vehicle driver’s licence

Position Overview:

POSITION: Human Resources Officer
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Manager – Human Resources
Substantive Classification: Administrative Officer (Labour Market Assistance Industry Award 2010)

OBJECTIVE: To contribute effectively and collectively to the recruitment, development, maintenance, and retention of staff to achieve the objectives of the organisation.
SCOPE: Human Resources Officer is a position that covers multiple work duties within the areas of:
  • Recruitment & Selection
  • Salary administration and staffing role changes
  • Performance Management
  • Work Health & Safety
  • Staff exits
The Human Resources Officer will be responsible for assisting in the effective delivery of human resource management functions across the whole region in accord with the objectives, policies, and protocols of Tursa Employment & Training and in accordance with any applicable legislation. The position’s focus is to not only enhance the development of best Human Resources practice but also to carry out or assist in the analysis and research into workplace relations issues, and the processing and maintenance of personnel records. Its aim is specifically one of contributing to the achievement of high performance by staff and the organisation. The position will be based in Tweed Heads and may require travel within the region serviced by TURSA.
