About Disability Employment Services

Disability Employment Services (DES) are specialised programs aimed at helping individuals with disabilities, injuries, or mental health conditions secure and maintain employment. These programs understand that every individual has unique needs and abilities, and therefore, they focus on providing personalised support.

DES programs assist people in overcoming barriers to employment by providing a wide range of services. This includes job readiness training, resume preparation, interview coaching, on-the-job support, and more. DES also plays a pivotal role in liaising with employers, making necessary workplace modifications, and offering continuous support to ensure job retention.

Our DES Team Get to Know You

When a participant begins their journey with us, we start by understanding their unique circumstances, abilities, and employment aspirations. With this information, we collaborate with the participant to create a personalised employment plan.

We Provide Ongoing Support

Throughout this process, our team of experienced and qualified Disability Employment Advocates provides comprehensive support. They maintain regular, face-to-face appointments with participants to guide them and monitor their progress.

Respect and consultation are at the heart of our approach. We ensure participants are part of the decision-making process at all times, and we adapt our services based on their feedback and changing needs.

We Help You Find Suitable and Sustainable Employment

We focus on the strengths and abilities of each participant, as well as their potential skills and employment goals. This helps us provide the right kind of support, whether it’s job readiness training, resume preparation, interview coaching, or liaising with potential employers.

Furthermore, we provide ongoing support even after a participant secures a job. This includes on-the-job support for 52 weeks, helping participants adapt to their new roles and overcome any challenges they may encounter.

At TURSA all DES-ESS services are delivered to meet and exceed National Standards for Disability Services. What else can you expect?

You will be assigned a specialist Disability Employment Adviser to work with you personally
Fortnightly face to face appointments available as well as flexible options to meet your needs as required
Tailored job plans with goal setting and planning reviewed with you as your needs change
Courteous, qualified and experienced staff who will work with you to achieve your employment goals
The opportunity for you to provide regular feedback to TURSA
Our assessment processes will ensure that you are fully equipped to remain in the workplace without intervention before exiting our services
