Protecting Families, Empowering Communities
Operation Family Protect is a targeted safety initiative supporting high-risk victims of domestic and family violence, along with other vulnerable community members. Through this program, individuals at risk receive personal surveillance equipment—primarily security cameras—to help monitor their surroundings, deter potential threats, and document any incidents or breaches.
This life-changing support empowers recipients with greater safety, peace of mind, and the tools to take action when needed.

This project will support the launch of The Bee Hive – Women’s Collective Hub, a new initiative by Protea Place Inc. designed to provide a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for women recovering from domestic and family violence, trauma, homelessness, and mental health challenges.
Located in a rent-free venue within a local shopping precinct, the hub will offer free or low-cost activities such as craft groups, yoga, and mindfulness sessions, along with access to essential facilities including computers and printers. It will also feature a preloved boutique and homewares op shop to generate income for support programs and offer volunteer and work experience opportunities.
The Bee Hive aims to foster healing, connection, and economic independence for women in the Toowoomba region—creating a welcoming environment where recovery and growth are supported every step of the way.
This project will enhance the accessibility, safety, and usability of the community garden at the East Creek Community Centre.
The grant will fund a small redesign of the garden layout, the purchase of new gardening equipment for volunteers, and the extension of the garden area around a recently installed electronic sign to prevent pedestrian access and improve safety. These upgrades will support the work of volunteer gardeners and create a more welcoming, functional green space for all community members to enjoy.
This project will fund two offerings of the Hot Chocolate Circle (HCC) – Coping With Stress program, designed to support late-teen girls on the Sunshine Coast who are experiencing anxiety that limits their ability to pursue employment.
Delivered in partnership with SunnyKids, the program will be hosted on school campuses to ensure accessibility and comfort. Led by psychologists and supported by trained facilitators, each session features structured activities, custom materials, and a warm, welcoming environment that fosters mental wellbeing, self-confidence, and social connection.
The initiative will directly benefit 16 participants, with broader positive impacts extending to their families, schools, and the wider community.
This project will support the reinstatement of the Sunny Coast Sleeper, a mobile shelter bus offering safe, warm, and secure overnight accommodation for people experiencing homelessness on the Sunshine Coast.
Previously operated by Sleepbus, the service was discontinued and is now being restored by Maroochy Neighbourhood Centre. The grant will fund essential operational costs—including maintenance, fuel, registration, insurance, laundry services, and volunteer support—to get the service back on the road.
The Sleeper provides private sleeping pods, hygiene packs, and onboard security, delivering dignity, safety, and hope to vulnerable individuals and families, especially during the coldest months of the year.
This project will support GPAI’s creative reuse initiative by repurposing cleaned and de-labelled glass spirit bottles for rental to event and wedding planners. To enhance the offering, GPAI will purchase a Cricut machine and vinyl materials to produce custom, personalised labels for each bottle.
A dedicated display space will be established within the charity’s existing retail site to showcase the merchandise, increasing visibility and community engagement. This initiative promotes sustainability, supports fundraising efforts, and provides a unique, eco-friendly option for event styling.
This project will support the Victory House residential rehabilitation and employment-readiness program by funding the purchase of a tractor for use at Vibe Care Ltd’s Mundoolun farm.
Victory House provides men overcoming addiction, homelessness, and long-term unemployment with stable housing, mentoring, and accredited training in land management, construction, and agriculture. The new tractor will be used in hands-on training aligned with certificate courses in Building and Construction, as well as for general property maintenance.
This investment will enhance practical learning, build job readiness, and support long-term pathways into employment and apprenticeships—empowering participants to rebuild their lives through meaningful work and community connection.
This project will support the continued operation of the Redcliffe Safe Sleepz service, a mobile shelter bus offering emergency overnight accommodation to people experiencing homelessness.
Operated by The Breakfast Club Redcliffe Inc, the service provides individual sleeping pods, hygiene packs, and onboard supervision three nights per week. The grant will cover essential operational costs including advertising, maintenance, laundry services, fuel, registration, and insurance.
Since assuming responsibility for the service in February 2025, the organisation has delivered 159 safe sleeps—offering dignity, safety, and rest to individuals who would otherwise be sleeping rough or in vehicles.
This project will provide 30 new uniforms for volunteers at the Kidney Support Network’s Redcliffe branch. These dedicated volunteers—many of whom are kidney patients themselves—play a vital role in delivering patient transport services and supporting individuals affected by kidney disease.
The current uniforms, worn regularly over the past three years, have deteriorated and are no longer fit for purpose. Supplying new uniforms will enhance volunteer visibility and professionalism, foster a stronger sense of belonging, and positively impact team morale and mental wellbeing.
The Digital Bridge Project aims to improve digital literacy and employment readiness for vulnerable and marginalised individuals in the Lockyer Valley region. Between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2026, the project will deliver at least 40 tailored digital mentoring sessions to help participants overcome barriers such as low digital skills, fear of technology, and limited English proficiency.
By building confidence and capability in navigating digital tools, the project will support participants in accessing employment opportunities, essential services, and broader community engagement—laying the foundation for long-term independence and inclusion.
This project will enable Meals on Wheels Broadbeach to meet growing demand by funding the purchase of a new, larger freezer. With the organisation’s client base doubling over the past year, current freezer capacity is no longer sufficient to maintain an adequate stock of prepared meals.
The new freezer will ensure reliable meal delivery for clients who depend on this essential service, preventing shortages and improving operational efficiency. This upgrade will help Meals on Wheels Broadbeach continue providing nutritious meals and vital support to vulnerable members of the community.
This funding will support the continuation of the established Saturday meal service, which operates weekly in Brisbane City. Each Saturday from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM, freshly prepared meals are provided to individuals experiencing homelessness, financial hardship, or social isolation, ensuring consistent access to nutritious food and community support.
This project will support the Taree Volunteer Rescue Association Inc. in acquiring a new inflatable flood rescue boat, significantly enhancing emergency response capabilities across the Manning Valley and surrounding regions.
As a 24/7 general land rescue unit, the team of 25 trained volunteers responds to a wide range of emergencies, including water rescues during severe flood events. The new boat will be durable, fit-for-purpose, and capable of operating in diverse conditions—enabling faster, safer, and more effective rescues.
This investment will strengthen community safety and preparedness in the face of increasing climate-related emergencies, ensuring that vulnerable individuals can be reached quickly and safely when it matters most.
This project will support the Port Macquarie Surfing Museum’s vision to become New South Wales’ premier surfing museum by funding essential digital and operational enhancements.
The grant will enable the development of a professional website with an integrated online merchandise store, the purchase of a new computer system with software and printing capabilities, and the engagement of a short-term business manager to strengthen fundraising and strategic planning. It will also support volunteer training and youth recruitment to ensure long-term sustainability.
These upgrades will elevate the visitor experience, boost community engagement, and position the museum to grow into a dynamic cultural and educational hub celebrating Australia’s rich surfing heritage.
This project will enhance the Manning Valley Cooperative Living Program (MVCLP), a holistic initiative that integrates emergency relief, food security, and community support services for individuals facing financial crisis and social disadvantage.
The grant will support the delivery of wrap-around services, including food parcels, ready-to-heat meals from the community kitchen, pharmaceutical and energy assistance, and referrals to additional support networks. By combining the Food from the Heart initiative, Community Gardens, and the SecondBite food rescue program, MVCLP fosters collaboration among local organisations and builds community resilience.
The program provides vital support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse families, and unemployed individuals throughout the Manning Valley region.
This project will fund the restoration of a damaged road and footpath, along with the installation of essential drainage infrastructure at the Lismore Showgrounds. The targeted area—located directly outside the Lismore Gem Club—is a high-traffic zone used by Show Society members, event attendees, and participants in exhibitions such as the prestigious TURSA Art Prize.
These upgrades will improve safety, accessibility, and usability for all visitors, including those with mobility challenges, while also protecting recently upgraded track infrastructure from further weather-related damage. Upon completion, the restored road will be named ‘TURSA Way’ in recognition of the generous support provided.
Kyogle Together will deliver Nourishing Kyogle, a locally led food rescue and redistribution program supporting residents experiencing food insecurity in the Kyogle Shire. The initiative collects surplus edible food from local producers, retailers, and households, and supplies it to frontline services and vulnerable community members
This project will establish a dedicated Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) case management service within Kyogle Family Support Services (KFSS) to meet the growing demand for immediate, trauma-informed support in the Kyogle Local Government Area.
Funding will enable the employment of a part-time DFV caseworker to deliver short-term case management, assist with navigating complex systems such as housing and financial support, and facilitate warm referrals to therapeutic services. This initiative will fill a critical gap for individuals unable to access existing DFV programs due to capacity limitations, while strengthening community safety, early intervention, and collaboration among local service providers.
Community Hall Modernisation for Inclusive Community Use
This project will fund the modernisation of the St Marks Anglican Church community hall in Casino, enhancing its functionality and appeal as a shared space for local groups, services, and events.
The grant will support internal repainting to create a more welcoming atmosphere and the transformation of an underused room into a dedicated meeting space. These upgrades will enable the hall to host new programs, workshops, and support services—fostering greater community connection, inclusion, and wellbeing.
As a neutral, non-worship-specific venue, the hall serves as a vital hub for diverse community activities across the region.
Station Safety and Accessibility Upgrades at Casino Miniature Railway
This project will enhance the safety, accessibility, and visual appeal of the North Casino station, part of the Casino Miniature Railway & Museum operated by the Pacific Coast Railway Society Inc.
The grant will fund concreting works at two key locations: the station entrance and a vehicle crossing point. These upgrades will reduce trip hazards, improve access for wheelchairs and prams, and safeguard recently upgraded track infrastructure.
By creating a safer and more inclusive environment, the improvements will support the railway’s mission to offer recreational and educational experiences that celebrate local railway heritage—welcoming community members and visitors of all ages.
Cycling Without Age – Casino Chapter: Expanding Access and Connection
This project will support the expansion of the Cycling Without Age – Casino Chapter’s fleet of trishaw e-bikes, enabling more older adults, people with disabilities, and individuals with limited mobility to reconnect with their community and the outdoors.
The grant will help fund additional trishaws, including a wheelchair-accessible model, allowing up to seven passengers to enjoy safe, scenic rides along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. Operated by trained volunteers, this free and inclusive initiative fosters joy, dignity, and social connection for all participants.
Expanding the fleet will significantly boost the organisation’s capacity to serve the local community and enrich the lives of those who benefit most from this uplifting experience.
Linen SHIFT Tailgate Safety Initiative
This project will fund the installation of a tailgate lifter for Linen SHIFT’s delivery vehicle, significantly improving workplace health and safety for staff who handle heavy laundry trolleys during loading and unloading.
Linen SHIFT is a social enterprise operated by The SHIFT Project Byron Inc., offering employment pathways and holistic support for women transitioning from crisis to stability. The initiative tackles key social challenges including homelessness, domestic violence recovery, and economic empowerment.
By reducing physical strain and injury risk, the tailgate lifter will help create a safer, more sustainable work environment—supporting women as they rebuild their lives through meaningful employment.
Emergency Relief for Bellingen Shire
This project delivers essential emergency support to vulnerable individuals and families across the Bellingen Shire through the distribution of vouchers for food, medication, and fuel. With formal funding for this service having lapsed nearly a decade ago, the Neighbourhood Centres of Bellingen Shire have relied solely on community fundraising to sustain this critical lifeline.
The grant will secure the continuity of this vital service, helping those facing financial hardship, homelessness, or crisis to meet their basic needs and preserve dignity during challenging times.
This project addresses urgent structural repairs to the foundations of our community sheds, which were severely compromised by the 2022 flood, Cyclone Alfred, and ongoing extreme weather events.
The resulting damage has led to visible wall movement, creating a significant safety hazard for shed users. Restoring the integrity of these facilities is essential to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for community activities.
