How Genevive Turned Her Life Around to Build a Brighter Future

When Genevive first connected with TURSA 10 months ago, she was in an extremely low place. Recognising that her wellbeing needed to come first, the focus was not immediately on employment but on ensuring she had access to the support needed to improve her mental health and regain stability in her life. TURSA worked alongside Genevive to connect her with appropriate mental health services and supports, helping her take the first steps towards recovery. During this time, she spent time in a psychiatric ward where she was able to receive the care and treatment she needed.

Through her determination and willingness to engage with support, Genevive gradually began rebuilding her confidence and working towards her goals. As her mental health improved, she was able to shift her focus towards creating a stable and independent future.

Today, Genevive’s life looks very different. She has secured employment as a bartender at a local club, where she is building valuable skills, gaining confidence, and enjoying the opportunity to be part of a workplace team. She has also achieved the significant milestone of purchasing her own vehicle, providing her with greater independence and flexibility.

Alongside her employment success, Genevive now has a stable place to live and the security that comes with having a home. These achievements represent far more than individual milestones. They reflect the resilience, courage and hard work she has shown throughout her journey.
