When Kerrod first connected with TURSA he had a clear goal mind he wanted greater independence and the opportunity to build the life he envisioned for himself, this was achieved by participating in TURSA’s IEA program.
At 28 years old and living in Supported Independent Living (SIL) accommodation, Kerrod was determined to take positive steps towards achieving his goals. With support from the TURSA team and a strong commitment to personal growth, he has transformed his life over the past 12 months.
One of Kerrod’s biggest achievements has been moving into his own independent accommodation. This milestone has provided him with greater confidence, freedom, and the opportunity to take control of his day-to-day life while continuing to develop valuable life skills.
Employment has also played a major role in Kerrod’s journey. With support from TURSA to gain employment in the hospitality industry, Kerrod recently reached the significant milestone of 52 weeks in work. Throughout this time, he has built workplace confidence, developed new skills, and enjoyed the sense of purpose that comes with being part of a team. His success in employment has also created further opportunities, including a volunteer role at the local History Museum.
The positive impact of employment extends far beyond the workplace. Through his hard work and dedication, Kerrod was able to purchase his own car, giving him greater independence and flexibility. He has also achieved a personal goal by travelling to America.
Today, Kerrod is thriving. His journey is a great reminder of what can be achieved when determination is matched with the right support and opportunities. Completing 52 weeks of employment is an incredible achievement, and everyone at TURSA is proud of what Kerrod has accomplished and excited to see what the future holds for him.
