At TURSA, we believe that creating real employment opportunities starts with strong community partnerships. Through our Transition to Work (TtW) program, we are committed to helping young people develop the skills, confidence, and experience they need to successfully enter the workforce.
One of these valuable partnerships is with Impact Care Services at Caddies Community Centre in Jimboomba. Through this partnership, five of TURSA‘s Transition to Work participants are currently undertaking retail and business administration traineeships, gaining practical, hands-on experience in a supportive workplace environment.
The 22-week traineeships provide participants with the opportunity to develop essential skills that employers are looking for. From customer service and communication to workplace presentation, teamwork, and job readiness, participants are learning the foundations needed to succeed in employment while building confidence in their own abilities.
For many young people, gaining their first experience in a workplace can be a significant step. Impact Care Services provides a welcoming and encouraging environment where participants can put their learning into practice through real-world tasks and responsibilities. This practical experience allows participants to better understand workplace expectations while developing the skills needed for long-term employment success.
These traineeships are not only helping participants become job-ready, they are strengthening connections between local organisations and creating positive outcomes for the wider community. Partnerships like this demonstrate how collaboration can create lasting opportunities for young people while supporting workforce development across the region.
At TURSA, we are proud to partner with organisations such as Impact Care Services to help young people build confidence, develop practical skills, and take positive steps towards their future careers.
"My Business Administration traineeship gives me a reason to get up every morning. Before, I felt like all my time was spent sitting at home. I'd definitely encourage other young people who are finding it hard to get a job to give a traineeship a go. You gain a certificate, get paid while you learn, and build skills that can help you find employment in the future.”
